Vacation Rental Franchising was established in 1994 by Graham Greene. Graham Greene is originally from London, England, where he started his career as a Chartered Accountant. After growing a successful practice, he decided that he wanted to move on to another career where he decided to sell vacation rental estate to "Ex Pats" from the UK. This is when he founded IPG Real Estate. After the launch of IPG Real Estate, he needed to start a property management company to manage these properties for his clients, which is when IPG Professional Management Inc was born. After growing to 200 units under management, he decided that there had to be a better way to manage the properties, which is when, in 2001, he came up with the idea to franchise the properties by assigning a portfolio of 15-25 properties to a property manager.

The franchise program quickly took off and the rest was history. In 2016 his son Jamie Greene came into the fold and started to acquire other property management companies for the franchisees to manage. Finally, in 2021 IPG launched the "managed franchise" program whereby a manager manages the portfolio of properties of behalf of the franchisee. Since 2021 IPG Franchising has grown from 20 franchisees to nearly 60 franchisees and currently has 500 properties under its management network. IPG now utilizes Area Representatives to manage all properties within its management network.
